How to make a printable maze

  1. Choose a difficulty. Very easy mazes have a few wide paths for preschoolers; very hard ones fill the page with narrow paths.
  2. Choose how many mazes you need, up to 50, and under “More options” how many go on a page. Every maze is different, so a class can each have their own.
  3. Download or print the PDF. The mazes come first; the solutions follow, with the way through drawn in red.

Tips for maze time

  • For children who are new to mazes, start with very easy and a crayon, and trace the way with a finger first.
  • Four mazes on a page makes a booklet: fold the pages in half for a travel or waiting-room pack.
  • Very hard mazes keep older children and adults busy for a good while, and make a calm activity for the end of the day.
  • Slide a maze into a sheet protector and use a dry-erase marker to solve it again and again.
  • Mazes help with pencil control, planning ahead and patience. Try timing a second go at the same maze.

Common questions

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no email and no watermark on the mazes or the solutions.

Does every maze have a solution?

Yes, exactly one. Every square can be reached, there are no loops, and there is a single way from Start to Finish. The solution pages show it in red.

How hard are the sizes?

Very easy is 6 squares across, suitable for ages 3 to 5. Easy and medium suit most primary school children. Hard and very hard, at 22 and 32 squares across, are a real challenge for older children and adults.

How many mazes can I print at once?

Up to 50 different mazes in one PDF, with 1, 2 or 4 on a page. Choose “New mazes” for another set.

Can I print the same mazes again later?

Use “Copy link to these mazes”. The link rebuilds exactly the same mazes. Mazes you download or print on this device are also listed under “Your recent sheets”.

Can I print without downloading?

Yes. Print, next to Download, sends the mazes and their solutions straight to your printer. On some browsers and on phones it opens in a new tab, ready to print from there.
